I've been using this watch winder for a week and I give it two thumbs up. You can either use it with the power adaptor that comes with it, or two double AA batteries. It has 4 programs to choose from: 1) Clockwise turning for 6 minutes, resting for 20 minutes, repeat cycle 2) Counter-clockwise turning for 6 minutes, resting for 20 minutes,, repeat cycle 3) Bi-directional, counter-clockwise turning for 20 minutes, resting for 10 minutes, then clockwise turning for 20 minutes, resting for 10 minutes, repeat cycle 4) Clockwise turning for 10 minutes, counter-clockwise turning for 10 minutes, continue this cycle for 3 hours, then rest for 9 hours, repeat cycle The pillow seems durable even if squeezed hard. The outer case is solid wood with a nice varnished finish. I hope this was helpful!
